Tables, 2000-2007

Wooden tables are stacked in a structure that recalls both temporary building scaffolding and minimalist sculpture. The precarious nature of the work alludes to shifting modes of production and labor, as well as to subaltern ways of reading minimalism. Both incarnations of this piece were shown in Mexico City. The first version used tables fabricated by the artist; the second version, created seven years later, utilized found tables.
